If…Then Thursday #2

I’m behind in blogging at the moment, so you’ll have to forgive me for the fact that I’ll more than likely be posting three entries today. At least if…then Thursdays are pretty snappy. I’m sure most people who have read the latter of these two books have made the connection already, but in case you’re curious, please click to see more.

Than read…

Basically one deals with children who go to another world, their adventure to become kings and queens in that world and to find a place where they feel like they belong. Then it promptly ends with them being back in their own word and not talking about the consequences of that at all. Other books in the Narnia series will talk about how some of them no longer have access to the world because they are too old, and in the final book they are all able to return there in some capacity. One thing the Narnia series doesn’t do nearly well enough is explore the kids who can’t go back and what it means to find the place you belong in only to more than likely not be able to ever go back to it. That’s the concept that Every Heart a Doorway explores, so the two really do go together like peas and carrots or white on rice.
